Norwood Young AmericaIS NOW OPEN!!!
Children of Tomorrow is an independently owned, family run childcare/preschool center that offers a bright, exciting, clean and caring learning environment for children 6 weeks to 9 years of age.
As a center licensed to care for 90 children, Children of Tomorrow is committed to working closely with our families to ensure that the special needs of every child are met. Our teachers, assistants and aides offer a close-knit, team approach to childcare that encourages parent involvement. Our management team works closely together to ensure they meet their common goal of making the children their number one priority. Every staff member makes it a point to know each family that is a part of the center.
Children of Tomorrow began providing childcare to the Chanhassen community on Jan. 31, 2000. We chose this area because of the growth of the city and its surrounding areas. In January 2004, we were able to add on 2 classrooms, a large muscle room, a parent information area and more office space. Our enrollment continues to remain stable through the referrals of satisfied families. Our family retention rate is 4.7 years which means our infants that come in will graduate in our Pre-K program. We decided to open our 2nd location in Waconia in 2007. Norwood Young America is a perfect community to bring our learning center into in 2017. With our strong preschool program, school age program, summer camps, and drop in care for the times when families need back up care; we are sure to be partnering with many families in all of the surrounding areas.
The foundner Aleta Mechtel, prior to opening Children of Tomorrow in 2000, worked as a Kindergarten Teacher. Aleta has developed relationships with the surrounding schools Districts. Aleta’s vast amount of experience and knowledge concerning children and childcare has lead to the huge success of Children of Tomorrow Learning Center.
Moving from a teaching position into an Owner and Director of a Childcare Center was a smooth transition. She wanted to provide a family based, unique curriculum Learning Center! She wanted her child care center to be different! To be better! To feel like home!
There is a large play area on the back of our center that connects to NYA Elementary School. Our playground is divided into 2 sections, one for the younger children and one for the older ones.
Inside, the classrooms are clean and gorgeous. The fact that this facility is adorned by beautiful artwork on the walls, friendly teachers and giggles throughout, makes this child friendly environment even more welcoming. It’s not just the beauty though that makes this a wonderful place for children to grow and learn in. It’s also the program itself! Children of Tomorrow prepares children to enter the elementary schools ready to learn. Included in the educational plan are Spanish, computer classes, music classes, physical fitness and nutrition. Also, each classroom is equipped with educational toys, books and lessons from the infant room to the preschool rooms.
COT maintains a childcare center that meets the educational objectives of all learners while fostering healthy self-esteem and student success in all areas of life.
